Evaluation from feedback from my questionaire on my perfume advert

Analysis of target audience feedback from my questionnaire on my perfume advert

The questions that were asked in my questionnaire and my analysis of the feedback from them:
Do you like how my perfume advert is set out?

The majority said they liked how my advert was set out they particularly liked how the product name was horizontal on my advert. They said it was unique and really made the product name stand out. Furthermore, they also liked how I had roses as my border. This   really made my advert stand out and gave the consumer an automatic idea on what my perfume scent was (roses). However, some people’s feedback was that they would like the whole of the border to be roses not just four images of roses one in each corner. They feel it would really make my perfume and advert stand out so I will take this onboard if I improve my advert in the future.

Do you like the colour scheme of the advert?

The feedback I received for this was that a large amount of my target audience really liked the colour choices. They liked how the colour scheme used unconventional colours (dark colours usually bright colours) but they thought it really worked with the black background, purple Bottle, red and white roses. They all thought, it fitted with my theme for my perfume, which was nigh time because these colours are associated with night-time. The only thing some people would like to add was maybe the purple of the bottle could be intertwined with the background, because the only time in the advert where they see purple is the bottle so maybe add more purple next time to link the advert more with the bottle.
What is your favourite feature of my perfume advert and why?

Feedback: The majority of people said, that they liked the moon in the background because they thought it was unique and really different; and also that it really made the perfume stand out and grab their attention. Lastly, they also they liked how the product was in the centre of the advert and quite big they thought it was the best way to really show of the perfume and really make an impact.

Do you like the text and colour   used for the brand name and product name in my advert?

Nearly, everyone liked the font of my   advert because they liked how sophisticated it was and also they thought it was quite gothic the style which links with my perfume because Gothic things are usually associated with nighttime. Additionally, the majority liked the white as my text colour they thought it complimented the black background however some people suggested that some could be one and some could be purple to intertwine the colour of the perfume bottle more with the advert.

Do you like the images in the advert?

A large majority, liked the variety of images in my advert and how they all where linked in some way to the perfume e.g. the moon was linked to night-time and the roses was linked to the scent. Furthermore, they liked how my images really made my perfume stand out and how they thought images really made my advert look professional and eye catching and without them the bottle by itself would be a bit boring.

Would this advert make you want to buy the perfume? And why?

Feedback

The majority of my target audience said my advert would make them want to buy the perfume the comments on why is that they liked the colour contrast between the purple bottle the red roses and the black background they liked how the colours all represented night time which is the main theme of my perfume. Additionally, they liked how the text was horizontal and either side of the perfume bottle they thought it really exenterated the perfume and make it really grab their attention also the moon behind the perfume really made it stand out and really look appealing making them want to buy it.

So overall, my final advert received mainly positive feedback showing my advert was successful and the constructive criticism I can use to improve my advert to make it even better if I decide to improve it in the future.

What techical skills I have gained

The technical skills I have gained is how to use the magic wand tool on Photoshop as before I did not know how to use it so now I have this technical skill which I can use it further projects in the future. Also, I learnt that if you hold down the type tool it comes up with different angles you can have your text I used the horizontal type tall for my product name which was much easier than having to rotate the text it saved a lot of time and I will be using this tool again in the future. Lastly, I have learnt how to upload an image form my camera to Photoshop which I didn’t know how to do before so in further projects if I need to upload an image form my camera to Photoshop I will know what to do.

Two challenges i have overcome whilst constructing my perfume advert

The first challenge, I had to overcome whilst making my perfume advert was I had to learn how to use the magic wand tool because in my magazine advert I did not use this tool so I practiced using the tool on other images to build my confidence up I found it difficult at first but after being taught and having practise could se the magic tool on my perfume bottle and the moon which I wanted in my advert. The second challenge,I overcame whilst making my perfume advert was making my border of roses the same size because with Photoshop you have to copy and paste each image from the other file and then shrink it to the size you want it to be the thing which fazed me was that after I got the image to the perfect size I wanted I couldn’t copy and paste it so each time I had to copy the big rose image and tr to get it to the same size as all the other roses in the order to do this I put the big image on the top of the image which had the perfect size and used it as a frame to shrink my rose to early the exact size of the rose which had already my shrunk to the size I wanted I used this method so my rose border was consistent.

Task 6 ( do I feel that my prodcut is suitable for my target audience)

I feel, my perfume and perfume advert is suitable for my target audience because the dark colours of my advert and the roses gives it a grown up sophisticated look because my target audience is for young adults. Furthermore, the script writing Is mature but at the same time quirky and young which my target audience will like it because they don’t want it to be to old. Additionally, my perfume bottle is elegant but still has a hint of youngness about it with the butterfly on the top however because of the sophisticated colour it doesn’t make it to childish so would appeal to my target audience. So overall, I feel my advert and product is suitable for my target audience.

Task 5 (how has technology helped me turn my advert into a real design)

Technology, has helped me turn my perfume advert design into a real advert because I have used high-end software (Photoshop) to help me construct a professional perfume advert and by having the right tools and specialist equipment e.g. magic wand, arrange of colours and a huge variety of text types it has brought my design idea to life and really made it into a real high end advert which is all down to the tools available on Photoshop. Additionally, my digital camera I used to take a picture of the perfume bottle which I uploaded to Photoshop so the camera helped me take a crisp high definition picture of my bottle which really exenterated the perfume bottle and looked much better than if I just drawn the bottle of perfume which would most probably look scruffy and not give a true reflection of  what the perfume bottle is like.

Justification for extra changes and how my finish product compares to my design idea

The only things I had to change from what I said I was going to use in my final advert was the font name for my product which they liked which was called calibri (body) had to be changed to (Brush Script MT) because the font I originally waned to use was not available on Photoshop. Furthermore, another change I have made was the font for my company name (brand name which was meant to be impact however when used the font it didn’t go with my advert and i felt that brush script MT really sited it and I thought by them both having the same font it made my advert professional and the product name till stood out because it was in bigger text. Lastly, the layout that the audience preferred had a single rose as its border however when I was searching on google images for roses came across an image which had white roses and then a red rose in the middle I preferred this one because I liked the contrast in colour and it also represented my perfume on the idea on individuality that the red rose stood out against the white roses and was different so I felt that that image was a better picture to have in my advert than the single rose lastly, the perfume bottle I was orginally going to use which was going to have glass paint work on it i choose to advertise my perfume in a diffrent bottle from my orginal idea i changed it to be a purple elegant bottle because i feel purple reminds people of night time and the lid will be a butterdly which i feel represents my perfume more beause every butterfly looks diffrent  so their all unique this intertwines with my perfume because the my  perfume  main aim is to be unique; so  that is my justification on the additional changes I made to my final advert.

So overall,my perfume advert is quite similar to my design idea it has the same ayout as the design idea had and the same theme e.g. roses and the background colour is the same the only things diffrent to my design idea is listed above but overall the improvments have made my adert overall much better compared to my orginal design idea.

Audience feedback on tasks 6-9 from my questionnaire given to my target audience + what I have learned from it

Audience feedback on tasks 6-9 from my questionnaire given to my target audience + what I have learned from it Feedback on task 6 from my questionnaire For task six, I created three possible block designs for my perfume advert when I created my questionnaire I took a screen shot of each design and put the justification underneath to show the person answering my questionnaire why I created each block design also I provided a few lines underneath to get their feedback on why they choose that particular block design but not the others two block designs. The majority preferred block design two they said they liked its quirky and original colour scheme they thought the black and red would really compliment my perfume originality and how the image of the rose really set the theme of my perfume and what it was about and also gave a clue on what my perfume would smell like (e.g. of roses). Additionally, they liked the perfume being in the centre of the advert because they feel it will make the perfume really stand out at make a really stick in peoples mind. Lastly, they liked having the product name down the sides they fell it’s a effective way to make my product name stand out and be one of the first thing people will look out also by it being vertical the customer will have to take time to read the name making it stick in their minds than just having it horizontally making it easier to read and not sticking in the customers minds; the reasons, they didn’t choose the other two designs was because they thought my last design was a bit crowdie and that design one didn’t really represent the theme of my perfume as well as design two. However, a small majority did pick design one the main reason was because they liked the idea of the moon so I’m going to use the moon idea by putting it as my backdrop for my perfume on design two. Additionally, some people choose block design three mainly because they liked having my perfume bottle as the border because they thought it really made my perfume stand out. Feedback on task 7 from my questionnaire In the questionnaire I listed the possible brand names and why I choose them; the majority said they preferred the name superi because they liked the uniqueness and how it was in another language and they liked the meaning behind it and thought it would stand out in the perfume market and give my perfume an edge they thought the other names e.g. fragile, purple etc were a bit boring and simple and not really giving an impact. Furthermore, the next part of the questionnaire listed the five possible product names for my perfume and the reasons behind the names; the majority, preferred the name midnight passion because they like the uniqueness of the name and how it symbolises night time and going out and with the mention of romance too which they found complimented each other and the perfume again they thought the other product names e.g. star, unique etc were good but didn’t sum up the perfume as good as midnight passion did . Overall, what I have learnt from the feedback on both the questions is crucial in the success of my perfume advert and I will now use the brand name superi and the product name midnight passion in my advert. Feedback on task 8 from my questionnaire For this task I had to present five possible fonts for my brand name and product name. Firstly, when I showed them the possible font for my brand name the majority liked the impact font because they like the simplicity of the font and how it stands out because they feel the perfume name is the most important thing that should stand out so they feel this isn’t to in your face also they thought the other font were to fancy and to complex just for a brand name. Additionally, the next question listed the five possible fonts to go with my product name the majority preferred the font calibri (body) they liked how its was gothic and night timey like my perfume and they liked the script typed writing making it sophisticated and they also thought the boldness of the font made the product name stand out they did like the other fonts but they said this one stood out from the rest. Overall what I have learned is that my target audience like fonts that stand out and that link to my perfume so I will use the font calibri (body) as my font for my product name. Feedback on task 9 from my questionnaire Overall conclusion Overall, this information from analysing my questionnaire I can use to help me with my final decisions on what choices I should make when constructing my advert on Photoshop because I now no which types of things I need to include to appeal to my target audience.
